Internet Map Server How To:

The first step is to set the "visible" and "active" layers in the list on the right side of the map. 


"Visible" layers will appear on the map, and the list of available layers may change as you zoom in and out. 

You can set only one layer as active - this is the layer that can be selected, hyperlinked or queried.

After visible and active layers are selected, use these tools to manipulate the map:.

Internet Map Server Toolbox:
Toggle legend/layer list: Switch back and forth from layer list to symbol legend.
Toggle overview map: Show or hide overview map in upper corner.
Zoom In tool: Zoom in to a particular area by either clicking
in the center of an area or by dragging a box across an area.
Zoom out: Zoom out to a particular area in the view by either clicking in the center of an area or dragging box across area.
Zoom to full extent: Zooms to the full spatial extent of all the layers in your view.
Zoom to active layer: Zooms to the spatial extent of the active layer in your view.
Back to last extent: Zooms back to the previous extent.
Pan: Lets you pan the view by dragging the display in any
direction with the mouse.
Hyperlink: Enables users to click features of the active layer and hotlink to reports, air photos and web pages.
Identify: Get information by clicking on features of the layer that has been set to "active."
Query: Allows the user to query the active layer's database and displays the results in a table at the bottom of the map.
Find: Search for information within the active layer's database.
Measure: Allows the user to measure distances on the map.
Set Units: Sets the map distance units i.e. feet, meters, kilometers
Select by Rectangle: Select an area and view the records from the database for the active layer.
Select by Line/Polygon: Select either lines or polygons for the active layer.
Clear Selection: Enables the user to clear a rectangle or section from selected region of the active layer.
