We provide GIS internships to international
conservationists and advocates working for nonprofit
organizations, protected areas, universities, and other
public interest institutions. Our internships offer an opportunity to
obtain advanced GIS training at BSCI's GIS lab in Montana and at the
Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) campus in California.
ESRI is the recognized world leader in development of GIS software, and
through its Conservation Program it donates GIS products to conservation
organizations and sponsors training courses at ESRI's Learning Center
focused on the most recent GIS technologies.
In addition to offering GIS
training, our interns attend the annual SCGIS Conference
and ESRI User's Conference held in California. These
conferences allow the interns to meet colleagues from all over the
world, present their work to a wide audience, and to keep up with the
trends in the conservation science and the GIS community. Since 1995 our
International Internship Program has sponsored dozens of international
conservationists.
